Mazeri to Ushguli — Svaneti Trans Trek

A true Svaneti adventure from Mazeri to Ushguli, crossing high mountain passes, remote valleys and traditional Svan villages along the way.
We start beneath the dramatic peaks of Ushba, cross the 2,960 m Guli Pass, follow the classic Upper Svaneti trekking route and finish in legendary Ushguli beneath Mount Shkhara.
Choose your style of accommodation: sleep under the stars in a tent or stay in local family-run guesthouses along the route.

Your Svaneti Adventure
Day 1 — Arrival in Svaneti
Kutaisi or Tbilisi → Mazeri
Airport pickup and transfer into the mountains. We leave the city behind and head towards Mazeri, our starting point in the Becho Valley.

Day 2 — Mazeri & Shdugra Waterfall
Into the Becho Valley
We begin the adventure with a warm-up hike through forests and alpine landscapes towards Shdugra Waterfall, with Mount Ushba dominating the valley.
Distance: 12–14 km
Elevation gain: approx. 500–600 m
Difficulty: Moderate
Overnight: Mazeri
Day 3 — Mazeri → Mestia via Guli Pass
The Big Climb
The toughest day starts early. We climb towards Guli Pass at approximately 2,960 m, with spectacular views of Ushba and the surrounding Caucasus.
After crossing the pass, we descend towards Mestia.
Distance: approx. 16 km
Elevation gain: approx. 1,500–1,600 m
Highest point: ~2,960 m
Difficulty: Hard
Overnight: Mestia
Day 4 — Mestia → Zhabeshi
Into the Upper Svaneti Trail
We leave Mestia behind and follow mountain trails through forests, meadows and traditional villages before reaching Zhabeshi.
Distance: 15–17 km
Elevation gain: approx. 600–700 m
Difficulty: Moderate
Overnight: Zhabeshi
Day 5 — Zhabeshi → Adishi
Mountain Villages & Alpine Meadows
The trail climbs above the valley towards Adishi, one of the most beautiful and atmospheric villages in Svaneti.
Distance: 14–17 km
Elevation gain: approx. 800–900 m
Difficulty: Moderate–Hard
Overnight: Adishi
Day 6 — Adishi → Iprali
Glaciers & Chkhunderi Pass
We follow the Adishi Valley towards the glacier before climbing to Chkhunderi Pass at around 2,700 m. From there, a long descent takes us towards Iprali.
Distance: 16–18 km
Elevation gain: approx. 700–800 m
Highest point: ~2,700 m
Difficulty: Hard
Overnight: Iprali
Day 7 — Iprali → Ushguli
The Finish Line
Our final trekking day takes us deeper into Upper Svaneti. As we approach Ushguli, Mount Shkhara rises ahead and the famous stone towers of the villages come into view.
A pretty damn good way to finish a trek.
Distance: 11–13 km
Elevation gain: approx. 400–500 m
Difficulty: Moderate
Finish: Ushguli
Day 8 — Ushguli → Airport
Time to Head Home
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Ushguli before your private transfer towards Kutaisi or Tbilisi International Airport.
We arrange the transfer around your flight schedule, so you don't have to worry about the logistics.
